IPC 162 dealt with bribery influence (repealed) — taking gratification, in order by corrupt or illegal means to influence public servant. Under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 this provision has been repealed: Repealed by Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. No fresh FIR is registered under IPC 162 for conduct on or after 1 July 2024.
IPC Section 162 dealt with bribery influence (repealed) — taking gratification, in order by corrupt or illegal means to influence public servant. Because IPC 162 no longer carries a direct successor section, no fresh FIR is registered under it for conduct on or after 1 July 2024.
